

I've done so with my Canon and it recognized its model and maker etc etc. It only does so when I plug in a usb printer.

If there is a job pending, click on the 'x' to remove the pending job. Double click on the one for the Gutenprint printer. Im working on setting up a local server, part of which is going to be a CUPS print server using a HP LaserJet 1018. Im using Ubuntu 16.04. However (THE PROBLEM) when I do the CUPS "add printer" thing, it asks me where it's connected and it doesn't SHOW me the option of "connected through usb". The printer proxy will be in a folder named Printers (or something like that).
